Session fixation vulnerability in IBM Initiate Master Data Service 9.5 before 9.5.093013, 9.7 before 9.7.093013, 10.0 before 10.0.093013, and 10.1 before 10.1.093013 allows remote attackers to hijack web sessions via unspecified vectors.

Weakness

Authenticating a user, or otherwise establishing a new user session, without invalidating any existing session identifier gives an attacker the opportunity to steal authenticated sessions.

Affected Software

Name Vendor Start Version End Version
Initiate_master_data_service Ibm 9.5 (including) 9.5 (including)
Initiate_master_data_service Ibm 9.7 (including) 9.7 (including)
Initiate_master_data_service Ibm 10.0 (including) 10.0 (including)
Initiate_master_data_service Ibm 10.1 (including) 10.1 (including)

Extended Description

Such a scenario is commonly observed when:

In the generic exploit of session fixation vulnerabilities, an attacker creates a new session on a web application and records the associated session identifier. The attacker then causes the victim to associate, and possibly authenticate, against the server using that session identifier, giving the attacker access to the user’s account through the active session.
