Shout is an IRC client. Because the /topic command in messages is unescaped, attackers have the ability to inject HTML scripts that will run in the victim’s browser. Affects shout >=0.44.0 <=0.49.3.

Weakness

The software constructs all or part of a command, data structure, or record using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify how it is parsed or interpreted when it is sent to a downstream component.
