An issue was discovered in Icinga 2.x through 2.8.1. By sending specially crafted messages, an attacker can cause a NULL pointer dereference, which can cause the product to crash.
A NULL pointer dereference occurs when the application dereferences a pointer that it expects to be valid, but is NULL, typically causing a crash or exit.
