As part of a winning Pwn2Own entry, a researcher demonstrated a sandbox escape by installing a malicious language pack and then opening a browser feature that used the compromised translation. This vulnerability affects Firefox ESR < 60.8, Firefox < 68, and Thunderbird < 60.8.

Weakness

The product constructs all or part of a command, data structure, or record using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify how it is parsed or interpreted when it is sent to a downstream component.

Affected Software

Name Vendor Start Version End Version
