An issue was discovered in the Linux kernel before 5.8. lib/nlattr.c allows attackers to cause a denial of service (unbounded recursion) via a nested Netlink policy with a back reference.
The product does not properly control the amount of recursion that takes place, consuming excessive resources, such as allocated memory or the program stack.
