A crafted NTFS image with an unallocated bitmap can lead to a endless recursive function call chain (starting from ntfs_attr_pwrite), causing stack consumption in NTFS-3G < 2021.8.22.

Weakness

The product does not properly control the amount of recursion that takes place, consuming excessive resources, such as allocated memory or the program stack.
