CWE-502 Deserialization of Untrusted Data at the rabbitmq-connector plugin module in Apache EventMesh (incubating) V1.7.0V1.8.0 on windowslinuxmac os e.g. platforms allows attackers to send controlled message and

remote code execute via rabbitmq messages. Users can use the code under the master branch in project repo to fix this issue, we will release the new version as soon as possible.

Weakness

The product deserializes untrusted data without sufficiently ensuring that the resulting data will be valid.

Affected Software

Name Vendor Start Version End Version
Eventmesh Apache 1.7.0 (including) 1.8.0 (including)

Potential Mitigations

  • Make fields transient to protect them from deserialization.
  • An attempt to serialize and then deserialize a class containing transient fields will result in NULLs where the transient data should be. This is an excellent way to prevent time, environment-based, or sensitive variables from being carried over and used improperly.
