The git-url-parse crate through 0.4.4 for Rust allows Regular Expression Denial of Service (ReDos) via a crafted URL to normalize_url in lib.rs, a similar issue to CVE-2023-32758 (Python).

Weakness

The product uses a regular expression with an inefficient, possibly exponential worst-case computational complexity that consumes excessive CPU cycles.

Affected Software

Name Vendor Start Version End Version
Git-url-parse Git-url-parse_project * 0.4.4 (including)

Extended Description

Attackers can create crafted inputs that
intentionally cause the regular expression to use
excessive backtracking in a way that causes the CPU
      consumption to spike.
