In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
power: supply: Fix null pointer dereference in smb2_probe
devm_kasprintf and devm_kzalloc return a pointer to dynamically allocated memory which can be NULL upon failure.
A NULL pointer dereference occurs when the application dereferences a pointer that it expects to be valid, but is NULL, typically causing a crash or exit.
