CVE-2024-42286

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

scsi: qla2xxx: validate nvme_local_port correctly

The driver load failed with error message,

Exit the qla_nvme_register_remote() function when qla_nvme_register_hba() fails and correctly validate nvme_local_port.

Weakness

A NULL pointer dereference occurs when the application dereferences a pointer that it expects to be valid, but is NULL, typically causing a crash or exit.
