GFI MailEssentials prior to version 21.8 is vulnerable to an XML External Entity (XXE) issue. An authenticated and remote attacker can send crafted HTTP requests to read arbitrary system files.
The product processes an XML document that can contain XML entities with URIs that resolve to documents outside of the intended sphere of control, causing the product to embed incorrect documents into its output.
