ZITADEL is an open source identity management platform. Prior to 3.4.8 and 4.12.2, a potential vulnerability exists in Zitadels passkey registration endpoints. This endpoint allows registering a new passkey using a previously retrieved code. An improper expiration check of the code, could allow an attacker to potentially register their own passkey and gain access to the victims account. This vulnerability is fixed in 3.4.8 and 4.12.2.

Weakness

According to WASC, “Insufficient Session Expiration is when a web site permits an attacker to reuse old session credentials or session IDs for authorization.”
