mcp-remote versions 0.1.32 through 0.1.38 are vulnerable to Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) via the resource_metadata URL extracted from a remote MCP servers WWW-Authenticate header

Weakness

The web server receives a URL or similar request from an upstream component and retrieves the contents of this URL, but it does not sufficiently ensure that the request is being sent to the expected destination.
